Purple Sunbird Cinnyris asiaticus

Key Features The purple sunbird is a tiny bird with a typical sunbird beak.Males have metallic hues under good lighting, else appear purplish black during breeding season.They appear quite similar to females once breeding season ends, but retains some vestigial color.Female birds are dull grey brown above and pale yellow below. Range Found practically throughout India except very high elevations.It adorns not only forests but also urban gardens.
