Chestnut-headed bee-eater Merops leschenaulti

Key features Green birds with a brown cap extending to the back of the neck. Yellow chin with a black neck band. This bee-eater has a regular bird tail i.e. it has no fancy wire-like extensions in its tail. Range South India barring the the plateau region, in North-eastern India and in Northern India parallel to Himalayas and down into Bengal.The bird is found near water,open woodlands.It is most common in highland areas.
